Fitness Boot Camp
Fitness Boot camps have become a great workout option in the last few years. Busy people like getting their workout finished early, before they go to work. And the style of the class is exciting. We use very different types of equipment not normally found in gyms. And we often (but not always) do our Boot Camp class outside. Starting time is 5:45 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday morning. And, most recently, our Saturday Boot Camp starts at 1:00 p.m.
The actual workout is a great combination of core strength work,
explosiveness and agility training, muscle confusion, and stamina building. In terms of equipment we have used Frisbees, snow sleds, tires, slosh tubes, Bulgarian sand bags, sledge hammers, plyo boxes and more. Quite often we just use the natural surroundings and build a challenge around that. Sometimes we hold class inside and sometimes it's outside but it is never the same. One of the most interesting aspects about Blue Wave Boot Camp is that every class is unique and poses a different kind of fitness challenge.
Fitness Boot Camp at the Blue Wave is led by Master David Blevins. A 30 year fitness and martial arts professional who has actually trained members of the military as well as local and federal law enforcement. It is nice to know that even though you might not be a soldier we have the expertise that you are looking for in a Boot Camp style exercise class.
At our Fitness Boot Camp you don't need to wear boots. When the weather is cold or sloppy outside you will need some indoor aerobics or cross training shoes for our inside class. When it gets warm enough then you can break out your runnning shoes! This class is designed for both men and women of all fitness levels. But whatever your level, you should be prepared to come and have a great time while you work out.
